Designed and deployed a bare-metal AI inference workstation on NixOS — no cloud, no Docker, no proprietary toolchains. When the proprietary SYCL build collapsed I pivoted to the open-source Vulkan backend to fully saturate an Intel Arc A770, then promoted manual inference into always-on declarative system services with snapshot-based recovery on BTRFS.
